Timeline feature: project-wide & within the project

With the new timeline function, we offer a powerful feature that is available both within a project and across projects.

  • Within a project: In the Gantt planning, you can now use the new column “Show in timeline” to pin specific milestones and activities that for example represent decisive key moments in the project. Show the timeline using the three-dot menu on the right-hand side and the pinned elements will appear clearly in the project timeline above the Gantt plan. This allows you to keep an eye on all important dates without having to scroll through an extensive project plan.
  • Multi-project view: There is now also a multi-project timeline view at a higher level. The project durations of the various projects within a defined time period are displayed here, supplemented by the pinned elements. Thanks to filter and sorting functions, e.g. by status, project manager or time range, you can maintain an overview even in complex project landscapes. This cross-project timeline view is particularly valuable for project managers and executives who want to quickly and easily view the most important milestones of all projects in a specific period, such as the current year.

All details can be found in the following help articles: Timeline feature in the project and Multi-project timeline.

Snapshot feature in the planning

Your Gantt planning is subject to many changes, which leads to constant update meetings? Then the snapshot feature will become your new favorite feature: Take a snapshot of the current state before you change activities or milestones and you can immediately visualize the impact on your schedule.

How it works: With one click on the camera icon, InLoox captures the current status of all planning elements. Then make the necessary changes and you can see which delays are to be expected from the red-colored planning elements in the snapshot.

All further details can be found in the Help article: Planning snapshot.

Copy and paste items: Tasks, time entries & more

Here it is: copy and paste of project tasks, time entries and financial entries. This makes it easier for you to quickly create this project information so that you can focus on productive work in peace.

Tip Copy & paste also works across different projects.

Column totals in the list views

In all available list views in InLoox, the sum of numerical fields is now automatically displayed at the bottom. This practical enhancement ensures that you can see important key figures at a glance.

Some examples are

  • the total time tracked of time entries
  • the totalized effort of tasks
  • the totals in the area of financials.

Optimized navigation in the workload

The navigation and handling of the workload view has been optimized and structured more clearly. You can now use the “More details” and “Less details” buttons to switch between daily, weekly and monthly views depending on the time period. You can also use the zoom buttons to individually enlarge or reduce the view.

The functionality of the capacity workload remains unchanged.

Description for mind map nodes

You can now also add descriptions to mindmap nodes - ideal for anyone who starts their projects by brainstorming in mindmaps. This allows you to work out your ideas in detail directly in the node.

If you then click to convert the nodes into tasks, the description of the mind map nodes is automatically transferred to the tasks. This creates a consistent and user-friendly workflow that helps you to drive your projects forward efficiently.

Settings: Search through list entries already created in custom fields

If you have a very large number of list entries in your own fields, you can now easily search through them. This makes it easier for you to find existing list entries and remove list entries that are no longer required.
